Sr. Carmelita has been an ERI facilitator and consultant for several years. Sr. Carmelita received undergraduate teacher degrees from the University of Louisiana and a Master’s Degree from the University of Notre Dame. She most recently served for 15 years in the Diocese of Lafayette as administrator of pastoral services for over 250,000 church members. Sister Carmelita has many years of counseling experience and has been an active community volunteer serving as an advisor to an urban United Way and a participant in local and statewide civic Leadership programs. Sister played a key role in the publication of a nationally recognized study of poverty. She has also performed community asset assessments and helped establish a regional community development corporation and an economic development foundation on behalf of Royal Dutch Shell and Motiva Enterprises. In addition to her work as an ERI consultant Sr. Carmelita serves as a pastoral associate for a large church of 2600 families in Abbeville, LA.
